How rare and what is this worth about a 1972

The engines are desireable among collectors, not all that rare. A year model would help more to determine value, but condition and completeness would be most important. There were NO 150's in '72. A '72 shortshaft engine would be a 140, which was one year only and rarer than the shortshaft 150's which ran from '73 through '78. 73 through 75 had blue stickers and 76 through 78 had red.

As far as the boat, I think you're talking about a Maltise Magnum (spelling on the maltise may be wrong). They're commonly referred to as Magnum Missles. If you do a search there've been a lot of posts on them in the past. They're kinda' cool, relatively dangerous and should NEVER be run with anything bigger than an inline 6 although people continue to overpower em with V6's, sometimes with disasterous results.

Take a pic of the boat/motor, if you don't want it someone on here may. I would if it was salvagable at all and closer. Kindest Regards. Smitty
