Alright guys I bought Seth Grady's old boat and I'm trying to set it up I'm a poor boy so all I have is a xr 6 150 hopped up a little with shaved heads and boysens and exhaust work. Here is the problem I set the boat up with the prop shaft approx. 1/2 inch below the pad and all I got was a good rooster tail and no top end speed. I almost forgot when I got the boat I pushed the jackplate forward to get more trim. all I can get is 80 is that what I'm suppose to get wid a almost stock 150 or is my set up wrong

It's smokin for a regular boat but VERY VERY VERY SLOW compared to all the other ally's and stv's on the tail race canal. It does turn heads though just to bad that people that know fast boats know it's slow I'm just to poor to buy a good mota right know u kno should have went to college!!!! BUT IF I EVER WIN THE LOTTERY LOOK OUT

1st congrats. on your purchace! I've had mine 20+ years. I run my motor--200 gearcase with Bob's cone and hi-po torque tamer--with the tip of the cone a little lower-1/4"- than center of drain hole. Also run 10" of set back. Mine is a 8" jack plate and 2" extencion in the swivel bracked--15" drag center section--The boats seem to really like the modified chopper props, hoss props, and a "tuned" E.T. Also the yamaha style but, they don't seem to carry a load as well (less blade serfaice area) These boats really like the 15" mids better than the 20". I'll be away from this computer for the next 3-days but, I'll p.m. you my ph## from home. If I can answer anything else let me know! Have Fun BE CAREFULL!!!!! Mike Tyler.

Hey Mike thanks for the reply and when u send me ur number I will call you because I have ALL KINDA QUESTIONS MOSTLY SETUP!!! I learned how to drive wid a 77 baja wid 200 merc so my ally is a CADDILAC compared to that but I'm kinda new to ally I bought it last year so I'm new to these caliber boat's. I really would like someone near so they can set it up u know someone who has experience wid these boats and can tell me how much trim I can use so I don't flip it or roll it if they can drive it so can I big kohonas little brain HAHAHA but any set-up info will be greatly appreciated one day I will race against u guys in augasta GA but not wid this crappy mota LOLOLOL. Thanks
OH by the way I don't think I can hurt myself with this slow motor but when I get a hoss on the back I will definetly use more caution now don't take that the wrong way I know a 25 evinrude will kill you but this mota just isn't pushin enough to air it out too much but I can assure you I respect it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks again
