I have an alumium prop with a couple chunks taken out of it about the size of a quarter. I would like to fix it up and keep onboard as a spare, but any prop shop charges as much as another used prop. Has anybody tried aluminum brazing rods such as these to fix a prop? http://durafix.com/

They even show fixing a prop on their website, but I have to wonder just how well this stuff sticks...since it isn't actually "welding" anything.

I would not braze your prop, Find a good welding shop and have it tig welded, the brazing will not have enough penetration to hold properly.

and then if you dont have real al tig experence you'll destroy the prop before you fix it.
