I had Red Green hangin out of a dutch door for an avitar for a long time. When I changed it to a picture of me, it took you folks about a week to notice.:D

I don't mind the hijack.

I need a new case of ducttape. Gotta put in a transom before ice out.

Sometimes we can see high 90's, with the dew point in the 70's. Makes Nevada feel cool.

Two foots and 90 something's not too impressive this time of year. Here, we're looking for temps above the freezing point and high winds. Can you spell 'EVAPORATION'. Can you see the grass yet?

Never spent a summer in Lousiana, but the summers here in NC are MUCH more humid than the summers in Atlanta ever were.

Bringing this sick thread back to the top. How much snow do we have? About 2 inches so far. Far less than you I'm sure, j_martin. we're flying through ORD tomorrow, so delays will be my excuse for 6 dollar drinks. I'm hoping the bass are biting in Georgia. You upper mid-westerners get this mess cleaned up bafore I get back, k? :p

I spent 2 *&)W&$ hours blowing shush and gravel off my driveway this morning. What a wet, sloppy mess.

Nature's April Fool's joke, I guess.

It's warmed up a little, and I'm makin' real maple syrup from trees in my back yard. Can't do that in Georgia.

I hope you have a mighty big sugar bush, I read it take 40 gal of sap to make 1 gal of syrup !

I also hear they are trying to get Internet in the UP, but the wire crossing the Big Mac keeps breaking as the bridge deck flexes.

I used to run 4 or 5 hundred taps. Now I just play around and make syrup for myself. I have 9 taps in trees right in the yard.

Sap runs 1-3 percent sugar. Syrup is 67 percent sugar. On average you get a quart of syrup (8 - 10 gallons of sap) out of a tap in a season.

I have a neighbor who has already gone through his first thousand gallons of sap for this year, and it's just getting going good.
