Gull Lake Boat Rally on Sat. was good fun. Thanks to Mike Sufka for organizing. Wind, wind, wind......seems every time I go boating this year it blows.....the wind that is. Still managed to have fun however I doubt the same can be said for the people living in Wilson Bay. As usual I was the first one to get stopped by the boat fuzz, no ticket, just had a lot of complaints from the locals. Mr. Gofast, in his Mirage, saw him turn the lights on on me and scattered. The cop says to me, " Was that your buddy who took off". I said, "Gee, let me think, you give me the blue lights, pull me over, and he turns around and takes off. Thats sounds right. What would you do?" Anyway no ticket. He was most interested in the noise factor. Cop: "Had alot of complaints for noise and racing, Are they all boats like yours (Allison w/2.5), no inboards with straight headers? I know those boats can go 75 mph or so" Dyno: "No racing, no headers, all ouboards, should pass for noise, are we done?" Anybody else and I would correct that speed estimate.....I leave it alone in this case.

Some notable observations for the day:
Engine beauty contest: Tie, Eric Olson (sweetly rigged SS2000, w/2.5 Drag) Gave Galligan (STV River Rocket w/tweaked 2.5, one crazyfast rig)

Crazyfast boat rides $1: RP gave two of the two bikini clad beauties a 108 mph blast around Wilson Bay....Allison style! They enjoyed it very much!

Largest Powerplant: The big red Eliminator w/ triple second effort V-8's....~1 ton of engine, 24 holes. Gofast talked himself in for a ride, he said it was awesome, even with one appliance hangin low on the trim.

Fargo visitors: One couple (didn;t catch names) with their Voyager, 200 Yamaha combo (very clean 91' Hydro originally rigged by RP @ Avon Marine) just happened upon the group and joined us for the day, "We are usually the fastest on the lake, then we came into Wison Bay and saw you guys!"

Jon Graff: Gotta love that V-Bottom Allison! The rides looked pretty crazy! Keep your arms INSIDE the boat!

Mike Sufka: I hate losing to ya. I gotta figure out how to keep the hammer down over those big boats wakes. Allison tail might help also off the line. That is one mint Grandsport!

Brian Nielsen: Mr. Gofast had the Mirage sailing pretty dam high in at least one run into the wind. When Gofast sees the video he will see what Jon gasped about.

Many, Many HSTS's: Four HST's I think. When the two red ones finally got off the beach for some runs it looked to me that the red/orange one was ahead on EVERY pass. Balzy, whats up with that? Also got to love the 20" setback mounts these guys have fabricated.

Beatin the Green STV: Trim way up and punch it, Punch it and crank the wheel, spin it around. Doughnuts and overtrimmed hole shots, what fun and entertainment with the Green STV Euro.

Party Barge: 40 ft Houseboat w/40 HP outboard power, OMC I think. Great rig, plenty of drunk bikini women, beer, tunes.

Great day, awesome hardware, friends, good fun. And I don;t think anybody made any junk. Good to see and meet everybody. Can't wait to do it again! Thanks Mike.

Absolutely a good time. Didn't get there until 2:00PM though. I don't know if it was because Anderdenter kept us up til 4:30AM Saturday morning or when I woke up at 10:00AM I saw the wicked witch flying by on her bike.

It was good to see Pat Brown with his HST (my sister boat, black, orange, red and yeller). When I put in at the launch a guy in an Allison SS said "that's the second black HST I've seen today." Since Balzy and Mr Gimlet were putting in at the same time I think he thought it was an HST convention.

I would especially like to thank Jon Graff for arranging for the houseboat full of young ladies. It is still fun to look. :D

A special thanks to Steve Anderson and his Mom who put me up for the weekend and to Nick Kaye who's bed I got when he didn't end up staying. Rained like crazy on the way up and the way back but was nice the day of the outing (can't complain about the weather).

Highlight of the weekend, stopped to get gas on the way home and some guy in the gas station asked if my boat was a Hydrostream. I said yes its an HST. He told me his buddy used to have exactly like it only it was a bow rider with a 260 Bridgeport that went 85mph. :D

Why did they stop making those 260 Bridgeports. :D

cept the wind. We laugh at the weather with our HSt's though. Especially if you are from around here on Lake Winnebago. 2 footers is a calm day for us..... LOL. Thanks to Otter for the day. Thanks to Noj and Dawn for bringing your friends with the houseboat. Nice eye candy for sure.....:D :D DBK, sorry ta hear ya got hassled? Hmmmmmmm, wonder who was making all that noise????/ Probably one of those guys with the offshore mids I suppose !!!!!  Who? Not me man.....  LOL Great to see everybody again. We will be back in two weeks by Steve's for the whole week of the 4th.

Oh yea, DBK, the reason that Don Johnson wanna-be boat was out front was cause I was setting him up to get back in the $100 bet we had from the night before that he chickened out on in the morning when he sobered up. LOL. We had a great time on Steve's lake on Sunday morning too. Swapped a lot of props and burned up a tank of gas. Oh yea, I did get to show Anderdenter just how fast his own Hoss 28 can really run too......  That prop rocks. Got to string out a 29 RE-3 I bought too, it rocks too. Gave him a new # to shoot for...... LOL.... Great time all weekend, worth the 20+ total hours of driving time.

Balzy, Still the FASTEST outboard Amigo !!!!!!!!

Baldy your so funny, do you remember who got there $$$ back 1st? It wasn’t me:D Maybe it was just drunk talk on your part cause ya know I don’t drink;)
Sad to say but yes Balzy did get me by 3mph:mad: but I had a full tank, forgot to take the wood block from under the pedal, water in the gas, sun in my eye's and just wanted him to feel good about his boat fer once

Otter, had a great time!! Thanks buddy.

Good to see everyone.
