I was going through some old boxes today, and look what I came across! Man oh man, this is awesome! I remember buying this sometime in 1996 as a "closeout" item for like $5.00. LOL!

It's amazing that many of them are around still. Opening and setting up production for many many bands I've witnessed some pretty crazy ****. It's funny how the the "heavier" bands are demonized for such behavior, where as they are probably the most mellow. The more main stream i.e. Poison, Ratt, GnR (sorry Greg but Slash took the cake for the worst smelling human anyone has ever come across) Warrant, Skid Row etc were pretty much out of control. I must say Pantera was definatly the most interesting to witness however.

I went to that concert... Although best concert ever was Motley Crew with Posion opening for them... (I think Faster Pussy Cat was the first act.) It was the DR. Feelgood tour... Drummer did the spinning solo and "flew" around the arena and played upside down for a few minutes...

I think it was Pyromania, man was that huge back then. Went to K-zoo/Kelloggs and saw them. That was first one arm tour I think, and he never stopped the entire time. The rest took a break and he kept right on going, did the solos and never stopped once. Now I have found out what was going on under that stage...lol.;)

Yeah, Def was a bad a$$ band. From what I hear, those bands are starting to want to make come backs because of their success on itunes after the guitar heroes. Which is AWESOME!!! I love their music and live for their guitar solos. haha

I wish you...the younger guys...had your own generation of music. It seems like all the music now is one hit wounders and nobody is making it for the long haul......even counrty music is the same way....if it wasn't for the older bands there are no good headliners selling out every show

This is true hottrucks. What sucks is that rock has gone down the crapper since metal died out, as well as "glam". Fortunately there are some bands around the chicago area that are trying to throw it back to the 80's and 70's when good music ruled the airwaves.

Haha, I'm all about the music and the '85 bears...give me 85 to 88...best years of music in my opinion. Master of Puppets by Metallica, 5150 by Van Halen, and then those two bands pulled out two more good ones in 88 with ...And Justice For All by Metallica and in 85 with OU812 by Van Halen.

Nobody buys albums anymore. It's all about downloaded singles and ring-tone sales. I'm one of the few people I know that still buys CD's. I buy them because most of my favorite bands are not billionaires on major record labels. I buy CD's and T-shirts to support them. Popular music today is terrible.

AGREED! Music sucks today. I'm pretty sure everyone that posts here wants the music of the 80's to come back.

I still enjoy some eighties jams every once in a while but at the same time, that music had it's time already and trends come and go. I'd like the record industry as a whole to go back to thier "older" ways. You know, like when bands actually put out WHOLE albums you could listen to from track 1-till it ended. It seems today that popular artists(and I use that term loosely) have one or two "smash" singles and the rest of the album is just filler. I guess it's just like everything else. As soon as large sums of money become involved, that becomes the only priority.

Which is sad really. Many artists claim that they're artists and can't be swayed. But, as soon as the big record industry waves a check in front of them they change their style, cut their hair, and start becoming the antithesis of what they originally were. I hate that. Luckily some artists are going back to their old ways, and some bands are going back to the old days. I recommend a band called Wolfmother. Their recording style and sound is that of late 70's or early 80's metal. It's pretty good. There's another band out called Airborne. Their from Australia and are pretty much a rip off of AC/DC just like any other Australian rock band that came out after '74 (Jailbreak is an awesome album).

Dokken oh yeah, can't forget Ratt either. Even the dance music was not bad... the chicks dug earlier Madonna, Janet J, even M Jackson, Culture Club, how about Relax/etc. If you had subs in your car like I did, sometimes they needed to get a workout. Big difference for me is most music then was fun, except for some hard metal. Music has been more depressing for a long time, or just plain lacking in talent. I just don't want to hear about you doing dope and wanting to die, Bands like VanHalen and Sammy Hagar wrote about way more fun than I could ever have and it showed in the music. The last thing I want to hear is depression, I just never got that at all.

Mondays are not the nights unfortunately. I wish we were on 3 or 4 nights a week, but it's a college run station, and my prof/station manager wouldn't let that happen. Although many think we're the best show to come through the station, they don't like us because we're not by the book like many of them....but isn't that what metal's about??? Doing your own thing?
