never had one and had a buddy give me one. what i cant figure out is why is the bolt pattern on the trasom side of the of the jacplate does not match the standard bolt pattern on a transom. there are two bolt hole each side and they are 13 3/4" apart from each other not staggard like a typical transom. yhe other side of the jackplate, the motor side, has typical staggard hole, yes it is a bobs hydraulic 6" jackplate. did the older ones come with non staggard holes? this is going on a 20 blazer with a 300 promax on it. any help given, will be taken.
thanks

May be older plate like 1977 not BIA bolt pattern, drill it! measure twice drill once, once you are sure of what you have, guys at Bob's are very helpful and friendly.

called bobs, older model jack plate. problem is that there are no "dog ears" to recieve the bottom protion of mouting location. however, i had already talked to chuck at hydrodynamics to build me a extension plate to mount up with bobs. i was just concerned that this would not be a reliable combination for my application.
have a 8" HD hydrodynamics extension plate then a 6" bobs hydro total 14" setback mounted to 20' blazer with 300pm with 15" o/s mid. i think it will hold up. hell i got the bobs free and it all works so i can't complain.
thanks for all the suggestions.

5200 is a 3M product, a marine sealant. You can find it in any marine store, and many Walmarts and auto parts places carry it too.

I just saw that they sell 5200 and 4200 at Walmart for a lot less.
