Maureen uses a Rebel XTi for wide-angle shots and general use for articles. It's a fantastic camera. Very fast with awesome image quality.

that sums it up. both nikon and canon make good SLR. it just depend on whick lens you already have in your possesion

some of the consummer SLRs nikon 40, 70 80... canon rebels have kits the include lens. the lens are just ok and dont expect result like greg gets. i think your better off but a body only camera and getting a general purpose lens of a little better quailty and general usage. for regualr picture takers i suggest one that covers 18-200 or 250mm. this will be good for indoors [wide angle] and out doors [telephoto]. im not convinsed the stablized lens are the way to go. i suggest using the money saved on a flash with some power. the built in flashes are really no good for more than 10-15 feet. and onlt then when aimed at the subject. with a power flash you bounce the flash off the ceiling anf dont get those point of lite in the subject.

with one lens that covers 95%+ of all your needs you dont have to change lens too often. every time you change a lens you run the chance of getting dust on the
ccd.
