2.5 3.0 mid length?

What is the difference in length between a 2.5 and a 3.0, from the prop centerline to where the clamp mounts to the boat,both having a 20 mid and a sportmaster?Is a 2.5 sportmaster faster than a 3.0?And can you adapt a 300x power head to a 2.5 efi mid and lower?Has anyone done this and what were the results?

The reason I ask is I don't remember my 2.5 hanging down so low on my boat.The sporty also seems alot smaller on the 2.5.

I Heard A 2.5 Case Was Faster Because It Was Smaller, Dont Know For Sure Though. Wayne Taylor Makes A 3.0 Powerhead To 2.5 Case Mid Section Just For That. I Have One And Love It.

joed is running some kind of bastadized 2.5/3.0 combo. I know the lower is 2.5, and the powerhead is 3.0. He runs a Taylor mid. Might wanna pm him.

Thanks for the help.I just spoke to Eric Simon, very knowledgable guy.He pointed me in the right direction.It looks like I need a 2.5 15 inch drag clamp and a mad efi 15 inch mid for a 3.0. Anyone have any pictures of the 2 so I can see the difference?thanks.
