The boat looks somewhat old school such as a Prather or Aeromarine but will be a good way to start. Use ONLY boat fuel. RC car fuel is blended different. Red Max is a good fuel to use, I have used it for years with no problems. Use 50% Nito content. Tower Hobbies is a good place to get most all hardware and accessories. Use only a solid pushrod steering set up, not the flexi looking set up that is in it. Use a steering servo with at least 80 in. oz of torque, around 100 is ideal for that size boat and engine. Move all radio system to as foar forward in that box as possible.

Hope this helps

I've got a boat very similar to that in the shed..same motor...OS .21 outboard. Finicky little biatch...Jon, buy A LOT of spare driveshafts for it, you will need them! Very quick and easy to replace though. Mine chewed through them...although the fact that I put a bigger carb on, changed the porting a bit, and searched and found a thinner head gasket shim for it I'm sure had no effect on the twisted driveshafts...:D:D

I have a similar Prather 32" racing tunnel. the dual servo pull pull steering has been trouble free on mine. I have a .45 k&b and it runs on 50% nitro. The starter is the same starter for airplanes so look for one of those.

don't let um freak ya out! my lower for my 2 liter was 1600.00 belive me these things are reasonable. and good ground work for real boating, and a good way to spend some thought at home. let Tom get back from the races and he has a wealth of knowledge, and websites. here's the guy that had the fuel bladder i got, www.Gaspartsplus.com Wes Young, from near atlanta, he has a ton of stuff, another site Tom told me about is www.jimsboatdock.com , supposed to be like SNF for r/c stuff. i'll pm ya my brothers e address, he's been at it a long time and has one like yours, don't fret little brother, everybody here will do what we can to get ya goin! remember, good used works, keep it stock and focus on being a good driver, and as far as the money, just find a way to go earn what you want! ;) fun out :D

Be PATIENT because Nitro outboards will get on yur LAST NERVE quick;) Myself I'd bought one of the Zenoah 260/Weedeater style boat that was for sale there... cuz you put std.gas/2 cycle oil in it and run for 30 minutes and then add more gas and run another 30 minutes :p

water cooled nitro is a bitch. let it run hot. restrict the cooling water flow. I spent hours messing with mine till someone told me that. runs like a top now. also shelf life on high nitro aint worth crap. a few months and its junk. good luck

get in with the local club there at the race site, Tom said the container and all the stuff is staying there, so there's got to be a good organization in your home town. i'm sure there's a few hobby shops they all go to. meet some of the local guys, join the club. you'll figure it out :D

Check out Graves' Rc, they are in Orlando. They are the best lhs I have found. You will be amazed at what they have in that place. Central FLorida Hobbies is good too. Find a parts explosion online for your motor, and get the part numbers for the parts you need. Both of these shops will compete with internet pricing as well. I wouldn't waste my time with any other shop, as they cater more to on-road cars.
Be sure to take at least 2 $100 dollar bills with you the first time, and also know that you will be back:D

I use 60 % in all my stuff and it loves it , oil is the key . Red Max is good , I use Technology Hobbies fuel made in Brandon Fl . Great fuel , been using it for over 15 years , very consistent ! Let me know if you need the number .

You can run it.... you may have to shim the head button up a tad more to get the squish a little looser. Like Tom said, just make sure the fuel has good oil/content. At least 18% with a Castor in it is good.

When i was still running nitro, i liked the Odonnell fuel.

Sorry guys. I've just been busy with school. Had to time to work on it, let alone to go to hobby stores.. Still just sitting in my room staring at me.. lol. Kinda thinking now to split up the package, sell the motor or keep it. Work on the body itself. Sell it or keep it... Just confused right now on what to do.....

i have several long term projects. but every day when you have a few moments you can work on your plan. visualize your goal, work on it as you can, until you can spend $ on it work out a paint scheme, your team colors! ;) as money comes, move on. my deal is in install of the parts i bought, and working through losing the contract i've been working under for 13 yrs. it's day to day, but it's a great stress releaver to pass a body of water and think how "super cracker" would handle that water :D
