Is there a good video- camera on the market that is worth a stink. A video cam that has a good shutter speed to take good fast stills of race cars, boats and the like. My Canon ZR70 is out dated and slow, good for jet boats and snails, and thats about it. Thanks

That depends on how much you want to spend. Some of the higher end consumer models are actually pretty good, though at this point I would stay away from hard-disk consumer models and stick with MiniDV.

Looks like the HV20 was last years model. The latest and greatest is the HV30. A person could spend a day looking in the 1k-2k price randge.

you want a camera with optical stablization not electronic. better stable picture.

the camera also needs have a progressive option. that way the odd and even picture line are taken at the same time. otherwise in the interlaced the odd / even lines are taken at different times.

look to get the larges optical zoom [not electronic zoom ( those 200x no )].

the first two camera looked good.

yes your looking at 700 or better.

ps i agree about not using the hard drive cameras. when digital SLR first came out the memory card of choise was the mini hard drives. they woked good for the first year and then started crashing.
