An old KB .82 or a custom German built Gas Zenoah are the only possible powerplants , or an inboard with a dummy out board . it must be VERY light to work at all but that should not be a problem .

I have one of those big boy nitro motors sitting here on the shelf. I will test a g-morty or lawless leg for zenoah gas power also and I have a dummy merc outboard cover so, I could run Inboard power. The 25" hull ran really stable on the pad and took the turns tight with Inboard electric power.

I plan to Install my zenoah with a angle adjustable stinger drive and rudder. Inboard

Here Is a couple pics of the gas OBs

Thanks for the info. I think I'll go to Orlando this weekend and see what its all about. I have only seen the r/c boats run once, it looked like a lot offun. I can be down there in about three hrs or so as you know.
I went to S.C. to run my STV once and it sat on the trailer all weekend because of the weather.:(

Oh you have a class. You will go into the race boat class with all the other race boats:D The problem with June for me is thats the month we take our family vacation. I am either getting ready to go on it or just getting back from it the whole month. Who knows it might work out. I would love to come back. I here yall have a fast boat lurking up there!

Looks great, but I think the proportion of the height deck isn't enough compared to the height of the hull. Just my eye.

Are you saying the deck Is not high enough? There have been some changes for weird stuff like Inboard gas power for one...

STV_Keith

Looking at it, I'm thinking the proportion of the profile of the hull is larger than the profile of the deck. Check this picture out for comparison...

http://www.speedcraving.com/stv/misc-pics/rr-running3.jpg

To me, it looks like the deck should be as tall from the part line to the top as the hull is from the bottom to the part line. Agree?

Then again, maybe it's just the picture or lighting...but your deck looks shorter than the sponson is tall.

I might sound totally dumb, but was that just a block or wood io is there some special wood that you use to carve something like this? What do you carve it with and how did you get it so perfect? Looking at this thread makes me want to try to make something myself but i have no idea where to start. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Stealth Assassin

Yeah keith, I believe you are talking about freeboard. Like I was saying, It was a trade off for Inboard power. I had to do that or the motor would have been sticking way out of the top like a top fuel hygro dragster. Also a huge plus here Is the hull will handle the rough water way better. I made these changes on purpose. I am thinking about making the larger gas OB model with less freeboard to be more scale and not trying to cram a zenoah and pipe Inside the hull. It will be In the 50" range. None of the foam parts are glued In place yet either or wrote In stone...

I like Inboard power on R/C boats...

SFRacing,
The white Is foam, I carved It by hand. The hull Is wood. These are solid materials for getting a good mold. They are called the plug.

we will never be a true super power if we cant even do simple math;)

1,350.00 EUR = $2,081.28 USD

1 EUR = 1.54169 USD, 1 USD = 0.648638 EUR
