Al, those are great. Nice long exposure panning work - I see he's using a Canon 40D as well. I love those shots, especially the second one. Fantastic!

Um I'm not sure but I think that blows my pentax k1000 away. Just a little bit. Time to upgrade.

Hah, I went on Wikipedia to check it out; and here is the first line.:p

The Pentax K1000 (originally marked the Asahi Pentax K1000) is the greatest camera on earth.

I bought it about 18 years ago, take a great picture on film. I wich they made a digital body replacement. I have the 35 mm lens pluss and 80-210 and a 500 mm. Oh I paid $50.00 for it back then and they sell for more than that today. http://cgi.ebay.com/Pentax-K1000-Manual-Focus-SLR-Camera-Body_W0QQitemZ110214740349QQihZ001QQcategoryZ15240QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I pretty much have a good idea what Greg would say here.

He's told me numerous times to stay away from Ebay stuff. I think for the price it's way too good to be true. That does look like a reputable seller however so maybe this time it may actually be a good deal. I have no idea how they are making any money though.

Also keep in mind that 75-300mm lens is rediculously slow, especially in low light. It was my first zoom lens, which I kept for about a year until I upgraded to a 70-200 F4 L.

I've been looking all over the place, and finally decided to pay the extra and go to a local store here that I prefer to support. I'm actually going out this morning to look at a 40D + 70-200 F 2.8 combo :).

Also picked up a 50mm prime lens, but totally didn't realize it was an old FD mount, so I have to get FD>EOS adapter.

Canon>Nikon (kidding...both are pretty much the same now-a-days):D

LOL, what do you mean "now-a-days"? At no point in history has Canon been a better system than Nikon. Actually, I think the contrary is more accurate :)

Okay Nikon Boy.

I love the live feed viewfinder on this camera. I heard your D300 has that today when I asked about it.

They do make one, the K100D which will work with your K-mount lenses. I have been using a K100D Super for a couple of months now and am pleased with it. I was excited to be able to put all my stuff back to use that I had collected while I was using my Pentax P30t.

Hey thanks Mr. Spack. How well does it work? Are they a little behind the rest as far as speed? Would it compare to the stuff mentioned above, (canon and nikon)? My wife bought me a kodunk one year. I took it to the track and tryed to take some picks of the race cars, yea in motion. The car was on me and half way around the track before the shutter went off. It's under a foot of dust now. Any body ever here of LEIDOLF WETZLAR LORDON yes it's a camera?

Cobra1, I like the camera very much so far. The reviews at the dpreview link I posted will tell you much more than I ever could. There are pages of technical info and tests and many comparisons to Canon's and Nikon's comparable cameras. My lenses were AF and had auto-aperature position so they integrated fully with the new camera.

The car photos are stunning. I wonder how much time was spent in editing?

Thanks, I will have to get one. My video cam used to take a good crisp picture, untill it went black. It was fixed under warrenty and a faulty design, now it has a life time warrenty. Since then they are not as crisp and clear. Nice to know my lenses are not junk. I'mm sure it will me more camera than I will ever need. Thanks again.
