jetski/ boating in florida jan 18 to feb 5

im goanna trailer my jetski to florida next week and stay for a few weeks . ill start off on the west coast (venice fl) and i want to do a day in these places

sarasota bay

tampa bay

and then ill head over to the east coast and i want to do a day in


miami bay

west palm beach area


can anyone suggest any other good places to ride ?

also are there any jetski or boat get togethers those weeks?

or if anyone wants to go riding

i have a 07 kawi ultra 250 not sure when ill hit the west palm area

ill be visiting family in venice for the first few days or up to a week , then ill head to the east side

a day on the bay in miami is a must.i want to check out west palm , im flexible on the day


i have done some boating in sarasota bay(from seista key to venice) , tampa(and surrounding areas) , miami , ft laudedale/boca area but i want to check out west palm this time

yea check out tarpon. i like it cause its 2miles from my house, 5.5miles long and almost always flat. Theres very little boat traffic on weekday afternoons but weekends are still bareable. Nothin much only one bar on the lake and a ton of houses but its fun when u have a group u know.

what year 1200 do you have ? i had a 1997 gp1200 , a 2000 gp1200r and a 2003 gp1300r . i like the gpr hulls alot , right now im on a ultra 250 kawi

ill be in venice fl in the begiining of my trip so i will definitly trailer up to tampa one day maybe sunday the 20th or whenever , anytime between the 19th and 24th or possibly even the next weekend

last year i rented a boat on a little island i think it was terra verde , well i did a nice day of boating there and i think i was in tampa bay at some point , there were so many areas to go boating so im not sure where i was half the time but it was nice .i was in the gulf and a few bays .

dolphins came right up to my boat near that big bridge (skyline or skyveiw ?)

Jet ski's are outlawed in Biscayne national park. That's really only the southern portion of the bay in Miami. From south of downtown to key largo. Don't worry, most of Miami is jetski friendly.

thank you for the info , so im guessing if i launch in miami and want to head south to see the keys ill have to go in the ocean

i wonder how far south i have to go before i can explore the islands

Even if you could take a ski through Biscayne park, it'd be one hell of a ride from Miami to Key Largo(the northernmost key). It's quite a distance and Florida bay can get pretty rough.

in venice and area, a cruise to snake island is always good at the jetties, cruise up to midnight pass or up to the beer can island or the cove, a run up the peace river is good for the scenic view and winding twisting turns then down to harpoon haireys for libations...
