Yup, I've heard of Tuff. Great boats. Great guy behind the boat. Do a search here and you can find out a lot. Or call Mark. His phone number is on the Tuff site.

I know, I used to email him for a bit when I was around 16. He told me not to go into the boat building business. I was pretty mad.

You could go into the boat building business if you won the lottery and stay in the business until the money was gone.:D
There used to be a bunch of boat builders in Ontario and they mostly gone or have been gone and been resurrected:
J craft, bankrupt, currently legit built by John Spaeth
Canadian Edition, bankrupt, Hydrostreams currently legit built by John Spaeth
Sidewinder, gone
Scorpion, gone
Panther, gone
Charger, bankrupt, currently built again but by most accounts not the same
As for the current companys:
Mark has not made enough Tuffs to get rich.
John Spaeth is not rich, although with repairs/restorations he stays busy
How many Talon 22's have been made, 2 or 3?
There are also a bunch of guys making mahogany boats by the ones. You can find them at : http://www.acbs.ca/links.cfm Restoration pays the bills at most of these places.
There is a spring tour of the wooden boat shops. The info isn't posted yet but it will be at: http://www.acbs.ca/events.cfm
I mention that because I assume you built your boat of wood.

I wish the J crafts were still around. Someone told me on here that the guy from Hydrostream makes them or has the molds. Sidewinder was a good make too. Wish they were still around. And yeah, wood and fibreglass. I think those are the only two boats I'd buy. The rest I'd just make myself.

Yes John Spaeth still makes the J craft. He has permission, so its not a splash.

Those are the only boats I'd buy other than Blackbird...or Stanley...haha or Legend. But do you know what the smallest model is from J craft? is it 16 or 17 feet?

John only has the mold for the 19' J.
You might be able to get him to restore a smaller J. He had one in his yard in the fall.

J-crafts are not fast but good for skiing. There used to be a lot of them around here.

Aw, thats true. I can see than, its in between the 17 and 21 foot models so its a good choice. I hope he still makes them from 5 years from now because I'll have the money saved up to get one! Actually with a 135 hp on the 17ft model it did 56mph.

Bullit is in Kingston exit 611, hwy 38 south about 1 mile turn left and around the bend on the left. ;) He's been there / in bussiness quite a number of years if that helps, I've only bought small things occasionally.
Is not the cleanest place around,,,,,,,,,,,,,but when ya walk in the door and have to step around 4 motors on cradels with blowers sitting on top, it does catch your eye.

I've got 2 Js they both run 80 w stock OMC power. Spaeth is about the only Canadian builder left. He is the only one who know how to build and repair boats the right way. On of the best in North America.
He builds:
Hydrostreams
19 J Craft
SRV
He Builds for:
Tuff 21,28
Talon 22
Humber Jewel
