MN Hotboat club....6-15-02......First meet

To anyone who didn't know and is interested, the first "MN hotboat club" meet will be this saturday (6-15-02) on Gull Lake, near Brainerd, MN.

There were 53 "members" as of last count, so hopefully, if the weather is good, we will have a good turn out.

Hey buddy, what is the plan for this weekend. When are you guys leaving, where are you staying, where are you putting in, etc?

I need to find a hotel but since I don't know where the action is gonna be I've been holding off. I hate to say it but I checked the weather channel yesterday and they are calling for crap all weekend up there. I plan on taking Friday off but have to get back Sunday so if it rains Saturday my boat will only get wet from the rain. :(

Give me a holler and let me know when you're going and where to put in (that is if you know).

leaving Friday afternoon. probably leave Kiel at 1:00. We will be going to Steve's place. I don't know the hotels up there. Get a room near Brainerd. That's close. Maybe Otter will let ya sleep with him.....:eek: :eek: :eek: We will be coming across on 23 to 83 to the interstate. Should be in Muston at 4:00. Wanna hook up there?

Kappy, when did you hear that about Kosh? I talked to Gimmer last Thursday at the races and he said the speed runs would be on Saturday August 17th, we may put together a grass roots drag for Sunday the 18th, then the action moves up here for the 19th, 20th, and 21st.

You haven't seen my HST yet. Now I got the seaweed off the trailer and you can tell its black it looks quite nice. :D I am closing on ya Balzy, better bring plenty of shining stuff to MN. Got my gauges today but won't have em installed by this weekend but soon.

As soon as the shining project is done on the boat I will post some pics to the Rumble Site and Hydrostream Registry and of course SNF.

i think over the winter im going to deckover mine with a capsule and a mod v4 with a short midsection...my vixen was raced by factory hydrostream it has the gauge pod and all that its pretty rad.....ill bring it to one of these get togethers you guys have.

Talked to Thumper last night. He left plugs in his boat...trying to make a big aquarium I guess so he might not make it to Otterfest. He is getting the boat worked out and needs some convincing to make him go.

Something about making some money by doing side jobs instead of boating. Sounds likes foolishness to me...better call and light a fire or its just gonna be the two Amigos. Maybe if you tell him there's some fields up by Anderdenters that need plowin and only a John Deere Motar can do the job. :D

Hey Streamin Demon:
Did you race last weekend @ Champlin in the wind and whitecaps? Maybe that was your Formula V boat who whacked a hole in their hull and sunk it! I called the sinking thing the minute he headed for shore...needed just a touch more gas to keep the engine above water.,,,would have saved alot of work. Nasty corner on the S. end of the course.

Eagle One:
Saw one of your drag boats last weekend. Very nice. Good guy...didn;t catch his name.....from near Baldwin, WI I think. Excellent field representation for you. Nobody else showed up to drag him so I guess he wins! Don't know how it could have been done anyway given the ****ty water conditions.

Will be @ Gull by 10 Am on Sat. Sufka says landing on the NE corner of the lake is preffered. It looks to be right off of 371, just N of Brainerd International Raceway. Last year about this time was 70's muscle car weekend @ BIR so the car viewing at the gas station was excellent. Old time Detroit Iron, GTO, Cuda, Chevelle SS, Charger, etc. Maybe again this year?

no i did not race my rig is not finished...that was kenny who sunk, bad deal there. i will be running at winonw in mini gt class unless a mericle happens and i get my hull done. all of us formula-v guys all help eachother so we'll have stuff setup for winona. i was with donnie lick and jerry sellner, jerry was in the black and white allison with the merc and donnie had the vampire with the loud mod blue v4...come down to winona it should be good.....
