hi can anyone tell me any tricks to filling my boat fuel tank, it keeps air locking and cutting off the filling pump nozzle, even if i use a funnel, or a spout as it may be called in the states? the boat is a bay liner trophy 2352 walkarpond 1999 model all original spec tank etc

check the fuel tank vent and make sure nothing is obstructing the free flow of air.

Nice.
Your boat may have a sharp bend in the fuel fill hose just below the deck. If that is the case, use the curve of the nozzle to direct the fuel so that it follows the bend. Experiment by rotating the nozzle within the fuel fill maybe 45° at a time until it stops clicking off prematurely and the fuel flows without backing up in the fill line.

Yep, that should do the trick. I found that on my Stratos I actually have to turn the nozzle upside down to be able to fill up with any decent amount of fuel...

Same on my Tracker. Filled hard, splashed out, blew out the vent, splashed out the vent when trailering or running if over 2/3 full.
After the Racor vent guard install, I filler er up and go, no problems, but I do have to invert the nozzle to clear the back pressure tube so it fills at a reasonable rate.
By using a molded elbow hose, installing at the max permissible angle, and the right angle end shipped with the unit, I was able to get the LG-50 tucked up into the gunwale and operating nicely with only a few inches of headroom.

The gas is going in, faster than the air it displaces, is going out.

Make sure the fuel fill hose has a downward run from the fill to the tank, if it rises anywhere along the line, it will back-up.

if you can get to the top of the tank spend the 30 bucks and
a put a cap right in it. lots of them dont work because there
isnt enough slope in the hose. it becomes really difficult when the
boat is in the water and sits bow high.
