i need some input on where 2 get a title 4 a 1978 hydrostream i just bought. i got it off a good friend he did not register it in 15 years he said something about new hampshire 4 about 200.00 $ does any body know the adress or what i can do i live in rhode island need it b 4 spring thanx

you will have to tittle search it your self by Vin number in the last state it was registered in
or you can get the marine patrol to tag it for you to get the salvage rights

good luck traking a tittle is a real pain

I just bought a boat to resell and it had no title.I called the DNR and boat prior to 1986 had no title only regisration.I wrote myself a bill of sale and got it titled in maryland.
I know NY,Idaho,and Arkansas boats befor certain years had no titles

if your buddy registered it at all you should be able to get another registration.even tho it was 15 years ago if he registered it he is the last known owner to the DMV. I would go to the DMV with him I know in new york you can get another registration easily. titles take longer regis are right over the counter.

I called the # but it doesn't seem to want to go thru........???

short version is if you have vin # ( old reg #'s or reg is better) you can call Division of saftey have them reissue the last registration ( you may have to re register the HULL ONLY in another words 0 horsepower it will be very cheap) on the back of the reg is a form to transfer ownership it must be signed by ??seller?? and then you can use that for your reg in your state...in NH we do not have titles on boats........
worst case is someone in Nh has to re register the hull ( Dept of Safety will tell you old Reg #'s since they stay with the boat as long as it's a in state reg) then sign it over to you........
