Just ordered a set in purple for the Pantera:D
Not my motor, but the 3rd pic is the same style cowl as on my motor.

They look good I also like the ones that just say merc. It would look cool to paint the cowl the purple. Rick

Here's what I had done. When I purchased the boat the cowl had no decals. I wanted to incorporate the two colors I had on the boat(Magenta/Purple) with the decals. I had a fade from Magenta to Purple done on the "Mercury"

Thats Nice,
I like the fade. I thought about doing something custom, but kinda wanted the stock look also, but a different color, so people would say "what the heck, never seen that" Plus these were local, and in stock.

How do you safely remove the old decals I have the clam shell with the vinyl with the decal in the middle? And how do you restore the faded area, under the decal is brighter. If you do repaint what kind of paint? Thanks Rick

try a heat gun or a hair dryer and a razor. then go over it with some goo-gone to get rid of any remaining adhesive.
rchevelle, those look good, did you have wildman do them or somewhere else?

What Fish said,
but if you do have to repaint, I use a Urethane Basecoat/Clearcoat System. Could look almost as nice out of a spraycan, but wont stay shiny as long.

It would look cool to paint the cowl the purple. RickNo it would look gawdy like a lowered 80's mini truck.
Those decals will set it off and match the boat nicely.
