mk55

Would like to get a gps to record the speed of my 1955 mk 55 on a restored 12 foot crestliner jetstreak.
I have an old magellen and you have to look at it to tell speed and with this boat at full throttle you are holding on to the throttle with one hand and the steering wheel with the other.
I had a 14 inch cupped brass prop on it at 1st and it was clocked by a hydro at 38 mph but the prop was only letting the engine rev up to 5200. I now have a completely redone double cup 12 brass prop supposed to load to a 13 pitch and get 5600 on the tach.
I need to get the cheapest one I can that will keep the top speed in memory to look at when back down at idle.
Thanks in advance for any help.
To see boat and motor go to : wwwretrocrestliner.com and click on restored boats, then scroll to 12 foot jetstreak and click on it. It is a 58 model painted red and white with the motor in its original red paint and redone lower unit which was a computer match of the original sand tan.
