Yamaha 350 hp - V8 -outboard ?

I was just browsing e-bay and looking at the section for Saltwater fishing boats.
I saw a 32' Century with twin V8 Yamaha outboards. The motors below the V8 marking had the 350 #. I am assuming this means horse power.
Has anybody seen or come across these motors.
Are they new ?
Oh buy the way the opening bid was 200 thousand smackers !! For a century!! The boat is a 2007!!

they are not all that new, they are however VERY heavy, close to 800lbs.

They came out in the 07 model year. 350Hp, 5.3litre V8. Double overhead cam, massive gear reduction, new gearcase design, and props made just for them.

They spec at 805#, and I'm guessing they probably weigh more. But they are selling BIG TIME around here.

Yeah but if you can afford the boat to hang them on it is probably not to big a deal...

They don't really have much interest in what sport boating but they should work well for their intended purpose.

SnakeBit, this engine was unvailed last Feb in Miami. It is a work horse, designed for deep Vee fishing boats. It is a truck engine more than a performance engine. Well over 800 lps on the transom. Lots of torque, low rpm. Not good for a Venim. A pair on the back of a Bahama's 31 however is great.

I think your right but at 800 lbs. it might as well be a 50' alot of motor ( for towing anyway )
PS Will you finally concede that boating season is over ?
Are you going to the New York boat show excuse me (fishing and pleasure craft ) show at the end of the month ?:)

what was the weight of those old merc 275 black max motors?

its been my understanding when researching them when they first came out that the boat needs to be designed with these new 350s in mind from the start, its not really a re-power option.
