I ran across a model of this on E Bay and bought it, and now my obsessive/compulsive disorder has kicked in and I want to build a REAL ONE.
Anybody remember old Hairy (Hurst Hairy Olds) from 1966?
How cool would one of these be? Now if I only new where 2 junk 455 Toronados were, and a REALLY NICE '66 442 hardtop.

How cool would it be to smoke all 4, then put one engine in neutral, switch it off, and then drive home with just one.

I could build it, but my projects never seem to get finished. I've been working on the 427 Fairlane Thunderbolt project for the last several days. Until then it hasn't been touched in a couple of years.:o :(
But here's what's appealing............ a pair of mild 455 olds.................. 910 to 950 cu inches, probably real easy to get 900 HP for the pair on pump gas, and all wheel drive. I'm thinkin' 9's with the air on and the stereo blarin' the Beach Boys.:D

Perfect scenario. Please do it.
We'll offer plenty of moral support and take the occasional jab at your rate of progress.

Skip, I'm hot after the 55, but can't get anywhere with the guy finishin' up the sheet metal work. He promised me July 1st, and did work on it, but when he missed that deadline he quit. I had a show car type body shop in Atlanta who scheduled it to do the paint work on Nov 15th and the guy promised it'd be ready by then, and worked a little bit more on it, but when he missed the deadline and I lost my spot at the body shop, he quit again. It's not a money issue, because the draws I've given him or short of the work done (I learned the hard way a LONG time ago about over paying for work on project cars:eek: ), but he just can't seem to get going. I've pretty well made up my mind that if he doesn't have his part finished by Jan 1 I'm picking it up on Jan2 as is.
I'm gettin' a 572 crate motor for it for Christmas (from me:D ) so that's gonna fan the flames that much more. A friend and I ordered 2 of em when I first started this car, and one shipped and the other back ordered, so I just cancelled mine at the time. Now they're more widely available and I'm gonna go ahead and get one before Hillary gets elected, makes Al GoreWhore head of EPA and kills the high perf industry.

If you're going to all the bother, why not do a more modern version?? I'm thinking a Cadillac STS with two northstar motors. Better gas mileage, probably the same performance.. Yea, I know.. Doesn't have the nostalgia factor. Still, probably be a better car. Best of all, Al and Hillary would probably approve..
