I read last night that in late 2008 the SS Vette will be announced it is said to be 650 HP. It is supercharged and will incorporate an intercooler...

This was in a "Whats new for 2008" car mag.. I was holding out for my new vette to get 5000 miles on it to Pro Charge it and some other goodies ( OVER 750 RWH ) but the newer vette with the intact warranty might be my route now...:confused:

GM has already said the CTS-V is getting 600 hp, I doubt the vette will be the same. Probably 25 to 50 more.

I remember as a teenager (in the late 80's/early 90's) and dreaming of growing up in the 60's when cars had REAL power. Now my truck has more hp then most muscle cars lol and my little 2L will put my Dad's C4 on the trailer lol. It's simply incredible how much power is being made and they're still fuel efficient, clean and come with a warranty!!! Now....who wants to buy my right arm??? :)

They should have just done a twin turbo setup. IMO

I just got back from the Detroit auto show industry preview. The Blue Devil was there, with a sign saying '620 + HP'.

They may still be dialing in the final calibration for emissions and don't know the final number, or they may be coy.

Its on the cover of Motor Trend, Road & Track, and Car & Driver. 620 estimated HP, carbon ceramic brake rotors, 6 piston callipars front, 4 piston callipars rear, carbond fiber hood, inner hood, fenders, fender wells, rocker pannels, chin/splitter, and C-pillar. 4 vein roots style blower, 9.1:1 compression, 10.5 psi boost, shares the same frame as the Z06, dry sump oil pump:eek:
Limited to 2000 production, should be in show rooms in October of this year.

I found it interesting that the intercooler reduces charge temperature by over 100 degrees...WOW! Tha's pretty impressive

Dad and I just looked at the blue million dollar ZR1 that was at Barrett-Jackson. He is 73 and has been a long time Corvette guy. He just stood there staring at it. Not moving. Almost a religious kind of thing. Next time I talked to him he was leaving a Chevy dealership in his new 08 Atomic Orange Z06!
