On my 2.0L block #3 has check valve/bleed line. This might be a stupid question . . . but . . . When you swap from the Vertical front to Horizontal front . . . do you need to add a check valve to the block? Is this swap . . . worthwhile . . . or should I just stick to the vertical front.

Build up plan is to add fingerports, D port Pistons w/8118 rods, run wh-1 carbs, horizontal front, 200 tuner, cut heads (bump compression up to 135psi), and run 40amp ignition.

Juss use tha early 200 2'4 skematik for bleed lines....it'z Horz front, and haz no fitting on #3......If U are gunna do all thoze mods, then swap front's...Juss a front swap haz not showed me enuff to warrant tha change alone......

I am gunna do sum test'in heer in tha nex couple months, and swapp'in vert for horz fronts will be part ov it...I will run the old 2.0's in DSRA SS and will find out exzakkly what only a front change will yield...This will be documented, az before I didn't keep records ov the differnce!!

Thanks Again TREX!! Can't wait to see the results!! I'm cleaning everything up now and will be putting the motor together this week. I've got sets of 5250 rods and 8118 rods . . . I was leaning towards the lighter rods cause that's what's in the xr2's.

Out of the 20+ 8118 rods, some appear to have more meat on them especially around the wrist pin ends. If you flip them over the ones with # in the 40's (45, 47, 48, 49, and 95) have larger wrist pins ends. The 8118 rods with an 11 stamped in the back look like they been drilled off center. I'll try to post a pic . . . does this matter? or just try to find 6 rods closest in weight?

When the 2.0L is done . . . I get to play with this one :) These OMC motors are HUGE compared to a merc's with the same HP. I love other peoples junk!!!
