I know that alot of outboards have been banned from Lake Tahoe, does anyone which Mercury motors are allowed and which ones aren't.

Good info. I thought they had banned all outboards, including the direct injected motors.

actually a sticky question .when i ordered my 07 dcb w/300 xs's i thought the only motors they were allowing on the lake were the dfi engines . but shortly after my boat arrived we made a trip to tahoe . and from what people were telling me was two stroke engines FUEL injected motors year 2001 and newer were allowed , somebody told me thats in writing somewhere w/ tahoe legislation i don't know ! buy xs's and your a guarantee ! just my .02 TUNNEL T

I have done a little surfing around and found several mentions of fuel injected motors being allowed if they meet california standards. Of course there is not list of motors that meet california standards.
