Need info on Gene Apel

Hey there, I am a antique and classic boat enthusiast and i recently purchased a picklefork hydro. It is 15' long. The boat was raced by Gene Apel in 1970 and suposedly won the world championship in it. It came with 3 photos of the boat in action and just a little history on the back. what i was wondering is if anyone knows where i can find a list or winners chart that i can show with the boat at shows, or where i may be able to get any more info on the boat from. The race number on the boat and in the pictures is F5. Thank you for any help you can offer. Scott
