I sold my skater and am really thinking of buying halffast's talon with twins. I want to know how the boat rides in rougher water, the seating position, and so on compared to a 21 skater?
thanks

Why not a 24 Skater?

I've had a 21 Skater with a single 300 and 22 Talon with twin 200's. They are both awesome boats but they both do different things very well. The Talon handles "nasty chop" water very well but don't expect it to handle the extremely rough water of the 21 Skater. The sponsons are not quite as deep and there's a center pod on the Talon. You really can't fairly compare the boats. They were really built to handle different types of water. You don't need river water like a STV but it's not going to be a fan of 3 footers. It will out run everything you've owned without a problem and out ride everything except the Skater in really rough water. I know Half Fasts boat well and it may very well be one of the nicest Talons on the market. Twins on a Talon is a huge rush at any speed and you would never go wrong with that purchase. The boat is a 10 and you won't find one that is in better shape mechanically.
If you are comparing your 21 Talon or the 21 Cougar to the 22 Talon, don't. Neither 21's will handle the water of the 22 Talon.

If you don't need to run 100mph the single engine 22 is a little better balanced in rough water. The twin is a little ass heavy and can supprise you in the big stuff. If up to 2' water is your thing you will love the twin 22'.

The 23 Cougar is much larger than the 21 Skater or 22 Talon. It looks like it's the size of a 24 Skater. There's alot more to it than 2-3 feet.
the 22 talon should handle its own in rough water but what are you trying to run it in? 2' 3' 4' rollers, waves, washing maching water, windy days, i have a 23 daytona and i have had it in some nasty stuff too on a regular basis it does it real good for the size, i am amazed how it goes over the rough water the faster the better, we have alot of master craft type ski boats around here they have to go real slow in the afternoon cause of the water conditions we cruise by at 80+ and get funny looks, our lakes are 2/3 miles across so there fairly small compared to some of the bigger lakes some of you guys run in , i would think the talon would do well also, i was at the shiver the river poker run in fox lake chain and with the rough, nasty boat traffic conditions and wind i saw daves 21 skater run and keep up with the bigger boats in the group were talkin 28 to 39' boats, v's and cats we were in brads 39 mti and while it was rough out the cat ran smooth, the 23 cougar should perform good for its size too.
