I have a gear case sitting in my garage that I no longer need and want to sell but I do not know what it will work with or how to represent it in a sale. I sold the boat and motors a few years ago.
When I bought the boat it came with it. I was told it was a spare in case of a problem with the others and was in working condition.

The motors were Mercury Laser 220 XRI EFI
2 were 1987 #OB184295 and OB184296
1 Was 1988 OB265953

I believe the gear ratio is 1.87:1
It has a Bobs Nose Cone with low water pickup
It has this # stamped in it 1647 9147-C

So should I just list it as what I think it is from?
I have no idea what it is worth.
I do not want to mis-represnt the gear case.

Thanks

if you want to feel good about the sale get someone to do an inspection if its ok a 1.87 that works with a bob`s cone if it is a bob`s cone is worth $600.00 to $800.hell the last one I sent to bobs for a cone was about $400 with shipping but they do come back as pretty as a woman on wedding day

That’s a 200 gearcase as you said with a Bob’s nosecone.
If it has the oil drain in the carrier then it also has the heavy duty carrier.
It’s hard to tell from the picture but the drive shaft looks longer than a standard 20”???

Is my guess. Look at the length of the studs. They are made to fit the 5" extension. Ray

Thanks for the replys.

I measured the shafts and one is 26.5 inches.
The reason for this might be that the boat I sold had 3 outboards and the center one was lower then the other 2.

The prop shaft is 6"

The studs are 6". The front stud was longer @ 7.5"

The vent hole is at the top and the drain hole is at the bottom on the left side of the case.
