Broke the prop on my Talon! Was a DR4 28" Spinnelli, now it's a DR3. Looking for any advise for a replacement. Type? Size? Engine is a 300PM.

I think you should just sell the boat :D (I'll buy it )

The spinelli dr4 seemed to be the best prop for my single engine 22 Talon. I tried several others and the boat responded better to the Spinelli. There are still some out there. (used) My 300 PM liked the 29" and the 30".

Thanks, rather suspected that since that's what came with the boat. Was thinking that a cleaver might work well also to get the tail up a bit. The Talon seems ride a little "wet" from videos I've seen. What do you think?

Any DR-4 out there these days is going to be pretty old and/or tired. A similar is design blade would be the Hydrotive T4-X but I would look strongly at the new blades from Performance Propeller.

My motor was back 14", the 3 blade cleavers had more ass lift than nec. If you trim up thru about 80+ mph and then trim down to squeeze the air in the tunnel you will see your best speeds. About 1 1/4" above bottom with your propshaft. I ran 95 with 2) good sized peeps and 1/2 load of fuel (300 promax)

The Hoss Tritons seem to run well on these for some reason, according to several owners. They also crack easily :(

Les,

Sell me the boat......Sounds like a hassle finding a new prop and all. :)

Pair,Fly,and Pyro - Thanks for the replies. Going to check with Perf.prop. about a repair. Still have a 30" which haven't tried yet so maybe a repaired 28 could be a backup prop only.
Rich & Ken, I'd ALMOST say yeah, come and get it, but I'd like take it for a ride at least once before I'd even consider it.

Did you see the Spinelli 27 DR4 that's on here?

Also the Performance Propellers Drag 4 is very similar to the Spinelli DR4. It has a bit more surface area on the blades and a little more rake to help lift the back end.

Also, Ben Lerew has my Hoss in PA. I could have him send it on to you if you like. It's a 14.5 x 29 HPD 4 blade. It's my spare, but you are welcome to try it. Best prop I have put on my boat and I've tried them all. Let me know.

Thanks Ken, I'll take you up on that one if the boat comes back running.
Raining here for three days and three more to go if the weatherman is correct, so it may not make it back this week at all.
