If anyone has a Nordskog GPS speedometer that has quit working because of a bad reciever ( the mouse thing ) I found that the Garmin (Garmin GPS 17 ) unit that can be bought directlly from Garmin will save the day. It updates much faster than the old unit that Garmin supplied to Nordskog and still mounts under my deck. The people at Garmin told me that the GPS 17 unit would replace any of there old units. $107.00 From Garmin.

Best wishes, Carter Powell

I have a brand new black digital Gaffrig GPS head for sale. $225 to your door. It's the same as the nordskog. http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134794&highlight=gaffrig+gps

Accutally, you can use any GPS puck with a serial connection. Some can be found on the net for $40

Looks for any GPS mouse with a serial output. I am not sure if you can make it work with a USB adapter or not, (I will be testing that soon though)

Here is one...http://cgi.ebay.com/BR305-SiRFII-WAAS-12-Channel-Serial-GPS-with-USB-Cable_W0QQitemZ270176703499QQihZ017QQcategoryZ4668QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Most GPS are 12channel, if you can find one of these mouse or pucks that is SiRF3, you get WAAS enabled 20channels.

those speedo use serial port gps. they are not antennas but real gps. if you get a gps antenna they will not work. do a search for "mouse gps" and you'll get a good may. you need one that works on 6-36 volts not the 5 volts. and USB connectorswill also not work.

both the garmin 17 or 18will do the job.

this is same one that comes from evinrude for I-Command, I just installed this one pictured in this ebay ad in a boat and hooked it up to the evinrude gps speedo.

its listed as antennea, it works even mounted inside the console.
Evinrude dealer wanted $250+ for the same exact unit.

lets see if this link works

True...the one I listed above would need a 7805 5v regulator to make it work on 12v. You can get those at radio shack for a buck though.

I am using the Garmin18 with my Nordskog and my old Laptop, new laptop is USB so I have to use a converter.
