What Outboard oil do you use? I thought it interesting to see what the majority of us are running in our outboards. Theres an other option because there are obviously to many brands to poll. I just listed the ones that seem to pop up the most. thanks James

Amsoil. They manufacture several types of 2-cycle mix specifically formulated for the equipment you are using. I've had great luck with it over the last 26 years I've been using it.

Ive been using Amsoil in my drag boat for the the last 10 years with no problems, but im thinking on switching to alysin, not because of Amsoil performance, but because of price.

Have been using AmsOil for years without complaint, I find it makes more power than the others I have tried plus the clean burn at the dock. Had a talk with the Royal Purple guys and they claim thay the Purple HP 2C will out power the AmsOil 1-4% with far better flash and viscosity numbers and film strenght. As well as the special additive they put in, that make it outperform. I have used the 70-90W gear lube for years in the L.U. and the syn. 10w30 in the cars as well and have had very good results. The HP 2C is made to a higher level than TCW3, so they say. Has anyone used it?

The Alisyn sheet, and I can say by talking with them that this is no snake oil. I was told since they do not use any solvents, this put the flash point at 500-600*F. I will check on this temperature .

Well I have decided to be the guinea pig.Ill be switching over to a complete load of BND automotive products this spring. Will be aces fuel treatment with pump gas,Quantum blue oil,and a Quantum blue lower unit lube mix for our colder water. This will be working its way through a 30 hour 280,that will get a head and rear cover pulled, for a look before spring.IF! its still running in the fall,Ill take another look and report!! Good or bad---BTW the breakin on the 280 was on Penz dino oil then about 25 hrs on Alisin, No problems of any kind
