I watched the memorial on CNN and cried.
1720 people not even found.
373 (I think) fire fighters lost.
Husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, and children.
Thousands of people have had their lives destroyed by some chicken ****, coward, bastards that don't have the back bone or the balls to show their face and fight like a man.
I, like the rest of our nation (wether they know it or not) am changed for ever.
I spent days glued to the T.V. in September praying for good news.
It never came.
I am not a religous man but I went to the local church, got on my knees and wept like a baby.
I did'nt know what else to do??
Felt totally helpless.
Just could not accept the massive death and destruction??
War with bombs and tanks I could understand.
But spinless towel heads using planes full of inocent passengers as weapons??
I wanted to go to New York and volunteer.
I did'nt.
I thought about enlising.
I did'nt.
Only thing I could think of that would mean something to me and would not let me ever forget that day, or how fragile (and valuable) our freedom really is was a tatoo.
I got one on my arm of the US flag with the date of Sept 11, 2001.
It ill be here on this earth to remind me and anybody that see's it of that day until I'm gone.
Thanx for the post Sharkey, and God Bless America.

I know how you feel...:( I too watched the Memorial. It is so amazing how they were finished 3 months early with the clean-up. What determination these people have. This will never be forgotten...and it will only make us a stronger country. Our boat club NJPPC raised $10,000.00 that we donated to the Widows & Children of Fallen Firefighters of NY. I was one of 4 that brought the donation to them in NY. Let me tell you, it was unbelievable the amount of things that they had received and it came in from all around the world. As we walked through the hallways, there were Christmas presents stacked to the cieling. An entire Board Room filled with volunteers opening envelopes. The outpouring of generosity was unimaginable. They simply didn't know how they wer going to get all these gifts out to all the families in time. I suggested perhaps they can get them all over to the Javits Center and just have the families come and pick them up. I'm not sure how they finally did it, but I'm sure one way or another it got done. God Bless them all...

We were only doing our part ;) but thanks. We wish we could have done more. Other members of our club that own businesses tried to send in a truck load of spring water. They were actually turned down because they already had such a great response and plenty of drinks for the volunteers.

You are kidding right??
You can tell a joke??
Alsmot did'nt post that thinking that some one could take that seriouslly. Then I thought, no, I don't think so.
Guess one did??
Consider your self invited to be on the "list" if that's what you want??

PhastBoat, That really is not appropriate for this thread. If you want to make comments like that, I suggest you show some respect for this thread as well as the Victims of 9-11-01 and delete your post, then start a new thread for yourself. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

The way that America came togther in this time of need along with the countless stories of heroism, and selfless dedication and sacrifice really got to me when I could really use some of it.
The guy with the restaurant at ground zero that fed all of the workers from day one and would'nt take a dime.
The pictures of all the fire houses with mountains of doantaions.
On and on and on.
The woman that drove 2hrs each way from Pa. every day the entire time of the dig out because that's what she knew she had to do.
Simply amazing!
Was really proud to be American!
