Mark:
Great stuff, thanks for sharing,
Some of the rarest Power Cats in there
A 17h 3pt, a 18h 4pt, and a 15x..
One shot of the 18h that I have wanted for
some time, shows the shape of the tunnel
in the back... First photo ever I have found
that shows what I needed to know..
Mucho thanks,
Danny Leger

Greg Amluxen really knew what to take pictures of ... anyone recognize the motor in picture #294?

The boat in picture # 261 ... looks like what I was told about this one was WRONG ... it certainly appears to have raced at least once, even if it DNF'ed

Lots of very interesting boats, very cool technical pics that most people just don't take. There is a lot very rare and one of a kind stuff in these pictures.

I wish I knew what half of the weird boats were ...

Sam:
Looks like an opposed 6cyl with rocker arm covers..
Maybe a Corvair mounted on a Merc tower?? Probably not
though as it doesn't look big enough .. What other pancake
6's were from that era?..

It is a Corvair. Without the cooling fan and shrouds the motor is actually small.

Good job! :)

I'm interested in the Fantasy Hydro, boat #222. Anyone who owned it?

great pics Mark! Thanks for sharing.

Anyone know the story on the trip engined carlson in pics 191 and 192?

I also like the flat bottom decked over Ally with the GT115 in pic 161

This stuff is exactly my vintage. The SE boat # E-18 is much like the boats I started racing in. These pictures show the number and diversity of boats in OPC in those days.

One of our Power Cat owners came up with these photos from

Boy! those pictures sure bring back memories of the old days...... Funniest part, it also reminded me of just how much cock-a-mamie junk was on the race course in the day.

It's amazing that any people survived that era at all......:D

We were all still guessing back then. I was down on bucks most of the time in those days and always looking for racing opportunities so I wound up trying to drive some of that "cock-a-maimy junk". I was fortunate never to have been hurt driving those "diverse" boats but I did have my most frightening moments in them.

Some cool shots of the U4 wing with Jan running it. I believe this was taken at Havasu 1967. The aerial shot appears to be of him leading the pack.
