What is the most commonly asked question?

After three days on the lakes (3 different lakes), I have been asked at least 100 times.....

how FAST is it? (FAST ENOUGH..)

how BIG/HP is the motor? (BIG ENOUGH...)

what is it? (RAPIDCRAFT RIOT.... which leads to HUH? , then I turn around and walk the other way....)

my favorite was a little kid that said that he had seen my boat on ESPN!! made me smile....

yesterday, my girl and I are cruising down the canal, and a kid on a docked pontoon, says, "how fast does that go?" I say, faster than anything else on this lake. He says, "my dad has a black Baja. It's the loudest boat on the lake." I tried so hard not to laugh. The boat he's talking about is a 22' or 23' baja deep-vee with a 5.0 L and thru-hull exhaust. It sounds like a ford pinto with straight pipes. It's the goofiest sounding motor I've ever heard. It looks like it does about 45 mph WOT. I mumbled to the kid, "that's what they call All Bark, No Bite..."

I could relieve the exhaust a bit and I'd be the loudest. WHO CARES!

no problem on that here. I took it to 3 lakes in 3 days in AZ. People think its all desert, there right, we just have a bunch of lakes spread around.

at Saguaro, you can ride your dirt bikes / quads back to the coves and run the boat out to meet them. makes for FUN camping, ride the quads, jump in the lake, and then ruin some jetboats day!!!

I have no choice I have to respond to this. I have a friend that looked real hard to find a boat to beat my Hydrostream, and after severl attempts (1 15 Checkmate with a 115 Johnson, 1 16' Fiberform with a 140 Johnson, a Glastron with a 140 Johnson), He bought the killer of all killers, a 19' Jetboat with a 460 Ford (he is a real hard core Ford person), it looked awsome with its over the transom headers, but he was so disgusted when I still blasted him. He thought womething was wrong with the boat, that a big block power boat could not even compare with a little old string puller on the back of a raggly ass boat.

Just goes to show you most people in general have no conseption of a good outboard hull that is rigged correctly.

When I bought my first 15' Allison, it was formerly a sponsored roundy rounder and had letters, numbers and stickers. I was at the boatramp and a young girl walks up and said "hey mister, is that a racing boat?" I said "yep". She said "will it go real fast?" I said "yep". (this was about 1975 and I thought mid 70's was flyin', everybody else did too) Her mother came and retrieved her and apologized for her bothering me, which of course I said was no prob. (mother cute as a button and no wedding ring)

Later in the day I saw them in the convenience store by the boatramp when I was leaving and the little girl said, "Mommy, mommy, look, there's that Raceman".

How fast? I say it is scary! The other day i was out just on plane 55mph or so:) and some guy in a Baja comes on my left side with his big head just sicking out of the boat and smileing from ear to ear! He thought i was open i guess!!?? I just smiled back and nailed it, the 2.5 just yelling mad bang me and three others in the boat were GONE!! I love these boats people have no clue!! I saw the Baja at the dock the guy would not even look at me!! SOrry you lose BAD!!!:D :D :eek: :eek:
