Cougar CUB need info for max performance

Any recommendations on engine (max) and engine jack choices for Cougar Cub to achieve max speed and what speeds can be expected. Please help with any rigging suggestions and hydrofoil and/or trim tab info.

mine is an 1984,I was told there was approx 300 made. max hp was 25. I got a merc 25hd and run a three blade.have to look to see what size.stock prop got me 30 mph and stainless got me 35.with both props I have to almost lay on the deck to get it on plain. great boat lots of fun.will die with mine. rumor is they stop making them because too many guys were over powering them and gettin hurt. put the gas tankand battery center up front.ps get large bilge pumps as big boat wakes can swamp ya.good luck .pm me if you need more help
