I've used them quite a few times for my stock JOHNNY-RUDE stuff, there not a performance shop. VAUGHN the owner isn't there much anymore, so I haven't been using them much. I don't really care for LOU myself, he tryed charging almost double on some bearings one time. LOU may not still be there though. They used to send all of there work out to CLEARWATER, but they started doing stuff in house again about 3 years ago. As was already stated, fairly basic equipment. Great stuff for stock engines, but not if your looking for more.

bought a powerhead from them more than 10 years ago. Not blackbird, but I definitely would not use them again. Maybe they have changed since then, it has been a long time and they are still in business. hopefully someone with more current experience can chime in.

Purchased complete rebuild kit, including upgrade to Vertex pistons from Powerhead Exchange in Tampa and Vaughn hand held me through the entire process. Got kit plus lower bearings and ring seals for under $1,400.00, with shipping. Got all parts in less than three days. (1,000 miles) Vaughn now uses paypal, which guarantees your satisfaction as to the correct parts ordered. All parts were from Pro Marine, and all parts were correct. Will definitely use him if the need arises. I do not have a dog in this race, but I heap praise where praise is due.

if you are buying a reman powerhead make sure you read the fine print about what you have to do to keep the warranty intact. One of my friends was looking at a reman power head, and the requirements were INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did, Hoss. They wanted over $2,000.00 for the same order. Two years old, yes, but it is still here. Just my 2 cents worth.
