Us1 Help Please!!!

Man this water psi on my 2.5 260 has me i can not get over like 8psi when running hard!!? Motor has new water pump did not help,the washers in the heads are in place. CLE lower unit with a Bobs cone on it. PLese help me! Like you said i need 15psi do not want to hurt this motor runs to damn good!

All my gages are working fine have tested all of them. My cyl. head temp never goes over 130deg.

The guy i bought the boat from said he had about 15psi. But he had some racing lower unit on it like a XR or something like that, anyway it had a crack in it. So he put the CLE on when he sold it to me. Could the water pump fitting on top of the pump be a bigger size? Leaking water right out of the top of the pump before it even gets to the power head? If so how can i check?

You will need to pull the lower unit and measure the size of the feed tube. Then look carefully up the mid section to see if you have a 1/2 inch or 3/4 feed pipe boss on the tuner. Then see if the water pump is 1/2 or 3/4. Take me some pictures. Some time people put two seals, 1/2 and 3/4, to shim a 3/4 down to 1/2. While you are looking up the mid section see if you can judge the dump hole size in the tunner plate. They are probably 1/2 which is way too big.

Feed pipe boss?? I dont know what that is but i will look up there and take pitcures of every thing for you Tuesday after work!

The feed pipe boss is just the piece of the exhaust plate where the tube fits into.

A little water came out between lower unit and mid section when i pulled them apart normal?

Looking up in the mid where the feed tube seats is like a brass outline with a black insert holding the feed tube in place a like a 12mm bolt holding the black insert in place. Feed tube fits very good hear. I can not see the dump holes? I pulled the washers back out of the top of the heads to remeasure there size, the hole in the middle of the washers are 13/64.

It looks like a 3/4 water pump and feed tube. The first problem is the thing you are calling a spacer should be glued to the water pump housing. Also where is the water pump to feed tube seal? Get a new 3/4 water pump housing and seal.

WAter pump to feed seal? Every thing that was in there i showed you? I will get a new 3/4 water pump housing and seal!
The water pump feed seal is that like a little white plastic tube?

There’s another freakin problem. You have a ½ pipe exiting the popet cover. Get a new stock unmodified popet cover and 90 degree 5/16 barb fitting and change that hose it 5/16. Do not run a popet valve. That will be good for 10 lbs. The feed tube seal is a black rubber seal that goes on the end of the feed tube at the water pump.

So being i had about 8psi. Putting the right stuff on the popet cover is good for 10 so = 18psi right!! Well i will get all the right stuff coming!!!

Yes, round up all that crap and if your tunner dump holes are not too big you will get 15 to 18 lbs. And ship the dog to 31700 Tick Cyn Rd. Agua.........................

the one time i can help you out i fail:( . Get a lab with AKC papers and cross your fingers!! If your looking for a puppy make sure you can see the mom and dad, that will tell you alot! I think any pure breed AKC lab is great!! Take care,Thankyou again!
