That did not look to bad to put a turbo on.
How come more people don't turbo the motors on the boats.
Don't tell me it is because you don't need anymore power you can always use more power :)

I had a radiator under the back panel for cooling and it worked great.
I never got any video of the car running, I wish i would of because it sounded awsome.
I built that car 15 years ago. The only thing I have left is the motor on a stand in my shop. One of my Friends borrowed the powerhead for a weekend and ran pump gas in it and blow a hole in the block.
The first trans was a built type 1 that lasted about 10 minutes.
The only reason this motor has never been on a boat is because it would take a ton of setup. This was a very high maintenance setup.

So people don't turbo the motors because it would shorten the life of the 2 cycle to much?
I have 3 turbo cars right now and just love how much performance a turbo if tuned right can add along with long term reliability but this is on a 4 cycle which i would guess is a different game all together

Are you interested in fixing and selling it? I have an outboard powered 300' sand drag trike with a 2.4L block that's been filled with epoxy. I don't think it's a bridgeport but the block is sound and has been sleeved.

Maintenance as in tuning or maintenance as in keeping it together? Any guess to how much power it made?
Thanks!

Eric, that is totally badass!!!
If I remember correctly they ran v-6 outboards in the unlimeted class for snow drags back in the day then they outlawed them for some reason. Any one else remember these wicked looking sleds?:)

Smilin Jacks marine in Michigan had one on display for years. Smilin Jacks has since gone out of business. I think Dan who was a mechanic up there and a good one, might still be around that area. He was working at a place up by Gun Lake last I heard.

You mean one of these? They were only made for topdog runs his fastest one had three V6 mercs about 600hp on the juice at 190.308 in the 1/4. The top pic sled ran 168 with a single 2.5 at 600hp.

Thanks for posting that info Blizz, I never thought about running multiple motors.
I found a motor that I believe will work well in this one, should be 400 HP on alky with another 200 or so of nitrous. Hoping for sub 3.0 seconds @ 120 mph in 300' sand.
