The motor after the rebuild ....It's an 81 225HP, water had leeked in and rusted the lower main bearing.
The pistons and cylinders were all in excellent shape, So we just cleaned up the crank (which had been replaced during a previous rebuild) and put in all new rings, bearings and gaskets.
At the same time we pulled the lower unit, and rebuilt the water pump.
It runs great now, very strong.
This is why the paint job was so cheap, all the money went into the motor.

The cabin, had been redone, I like the front to back seats, the extra cabin length in the Enchanter allows this...

We water tested it last week in the bay, it cruised at 45 thru 2-3" chop and was solid as a rock.
Taking it to the lake this weekend and should be able to open a little more. The motor is a 225hp, and the prop is a 26# Laser II. I will probably be looking for a 24-25" Trophy at some point.
This will surely make a great all around family speed/ski boat, Not bad for less than $4k total.
I appreciate all the help this board has provided.
I will try and post some action pics.

Nice job you did, had a "BANSHEE" that was really faded like that. Never painted, just used that color added wax...worked but your's look's good............

I appreciate the compliments. I enjoy doing projects like this, while this is the first Boat I have cleaned up, I have done cars and motorcycles in the past.
I don't have the time and money to make them perfect by any stretch, I try to make them look nice but not so I have to worry about every little scratch.
My last project was this 1997 Z28 which I re-diid two years ago and sold last year.
It went from this.....

To this....
That was a great car, which I had to sell so I could build my wife a Cafe' to expand her catering business. After dropping 300K on her project (it included buying some commercial property) I was rewarded this year by being allowed to play with 5K for the Checkmate. Isn't that how it always seems to work.
