Arising from the following information from 1968 the British Anzani twin coupled block (350cc X 2) Class D Alky in the hands of Jim Hallum, Ron Anderson and Chuck Walters will be recreated again to be brought back into permanent existance and view on this and other boards. As per the following as pasted:

In 1968 there was a British Anzani coupled twin "D" Alky!

<HR style="COLOR: #72a5d8" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Information is now coming out from very reliable sources that Ron Anderson and Jim Hallum British Anzani specialty racers (Region 10 West Coast) back in 1968 using an British Anzani engine coupler from Bill Tenney assembled a British Anzani twin block coupled (2 X 350CC Anzani powerheads) class "D" Alky for use on Chuck Walters racing runabout (Desilva or ??). Evidently at the time, this was a racing runabout effort and there was no available time before the specific event the engine was built for to find a suitable sized class D hydro for it too. :)

When the whole concept of coupled twin blocked British Anzani Alky racing engines first came out from Bill Tenney the estimated horsepower of the twin C Alky (methanol fueled) racing engines at a (2 X250CC) 500CC (30 cubic inch total) was in the area of 140 to 150 horsepower and that was in the early 1960s. By the later 1960s dynoed horsepower on the British Anzani class B 322CC - 350CC (20 cubic inch) Alky engines were reported to be going over the 400 horsepower per liter of displacement levels using 1 Vacturi carb per 2 cylinders. On the West Coast in Region 10 of the APBA engine builders Ron Anderson and Jim Hallum even got more out of their Anzanis by using anywhere from using 2 at times 4 and even 6 carburators to feed 2 cylinders of these engines breaking the 100 mph barrier time after time. Specualtion would hold then that the twin blocked Anzani D (at 700CC or 40 cubic inches coupled) that Hallum, Anderson and Walters cooperated on to race D Alky runabout could/would have exceeded 250 horsepower in total and even approached the 300 horsepower levels depending on how much nitro they combined in the methanol fuel based mix. In 1968 this was cutting edge Alky outboard racing at its best. :)
