Has anyone had any experience like this.
1) motor's warmed up runs great, shut it off for five min. And try and restart it, it sneezes once and it floods, wait exactly one hour and it fires right up!
2) Cruising along at 3500-4000 rpm, stab the throttle to about 5500-6500 rpm and its like someone shut the key off!
Thanks, Danno

Mine ran something like that but I had even weirder problems. Shut it off for 15 minutes once and only idled at any throttle. I never thought an engine could idle at full throttle.
My switch boxes & stator were bad.
I found the gasket was leaking for the reed plate. It was leaking out of the hole near the top injectors, you can see the bolts holding the bearing on through this casting "window". The fuel was bubbling from this gasket surface when the engine was running. If not for this casting hole I never would have known the gasket was crap. I also discovered that 4 bolts weren't used. I had massive fuel consumption, any wonder?
I would suggest that before you start yanking and changing to take it to a mechanic so they can check the electronics. It seems to me that the stator gets ignored as the first problem and is usually the problem in these find the part to change issues. And if you change the wrong part the new one might be destroyed by the bad part.
My opinion is the mechanics have the trouble shooting tools and knowledge to find your specific problem so that you can fix it the first time.
