Got a 2003 50 yamaha, had trouble getting it started. Bubble never would get hard while pumping it and you can feel the ball inside the bulb. Finally get engine running, idles ok and revs up fine while idling. But once in gear, wants to die, and can only run it in idle. Any more throttle, engine bogs down. Thanks for any advice

Definite signs of a fuel restriction. Fuel pump replacement and rebuild carbs would be my suggestion.

how long have you let it sit since the last time you used it?
The ball not pumping up could be from a bad ball, an air leak before the ball, a fuel leak after the ball, carb floats sticking open or a bad fuel pump (broken diaphragm. If the ball is staying flat it could be a fuel restriction before the ball or a clogged tank vent.
As for not being able to get past Idle, it the boat sat for a long period of time, you will need to rebuild the carbs.
