Hey Rex - workin on this old 225 - was wonderin what your suggestions for jetting might be.

'81 2.4 225 all chrome
square ported pistons
5 peddle horizontal fronthalf (u said that should give me a little more low end grunt)
145psi
WH-15's #72 mains and #42 idle, nothing up top in tha middle.

Havent ran it yet, but when I started it on the hose It seemed WAY rich? turned the skeg black. I thought #72's were stock for a 225 and with the slight mods I thought they would be close - what cha think?

I would put 76's in tha hi speeds and 56'z in tha low speeds for safety sake....U will probablly have to kum down on tha hi speeds, but 76'z will keep U outta trouble.....Tha rich condition U have iz more tha idle jets than hi speed's...In my opinion anyway...

56's should help cleen up tha idle, an give a lil springier launch...If it boggs on takeoff, go down on tha idle jets...U kan go UP on idle jets till U git the idle/launch U want...It won't hurt top end(unless U are too leen on top anyway!!)....
