TRIM how high can i go??

Howdy all,
am wondering if i could go up a further hole on my transom bracket to get more speed.
'89 200 blackmax 16 ft swiftcraft stiletto
Have already blocked off the 3 top holes and drilled the lowers out to run engine higher but find i still have to trim it a bit to get max speed.
When I do WOT sprints the tell tail stops piddling but the guage has never shown hot and i know its accurate. Still have t-stats in, am presuming that the revs and bigger pick up holes are very efficiant and t-stats are working how they should,would this be correct?

HI. This is difficult to answer, your saying trim and then engine height the two are different maybe rephrase could help thanks.

im really asking 2 questions here
1 engine height for water pickup and water flow
2 more or less trim angle or raise the engine

Do you mean the pisser stops? If you don't have a water pressure gauge, you need one!

yeh the pisser does stop momentarily where ya rekn i could get hold of a pressure guage kit over here in aus???
how would you go bout fitn 1 to a 2.4 200???

I think there is a plug on top of the block? Not sure on a merc. I would think a dealership or marine supply would have one plus the instalation kit. Sounds like you need a low water pick up, torque tab, jack plate, and a surfacing prop. :)

just beside/under the volt regular is a 3/4 pipe threaded adapter to 3/8 hose[90 degree angle] cut that hose and put a tee in. run it to any 0-30 psi guage. get one at a hardware store for testing until you can find a dash guage. psi is psi so ant guage will work. a hardware guage should be under $10 us. guage kit about $60us.
