Maureen should take a close look at this camera, keep your 1.6crop for longer reach on the zooms, higher pixel density, better iso performance,
14bit ad conversion (digic3), 6fps, much deeper buffer, still light weight etc etc...looks like a real win win :)

I think it looks like a great camera, but to me it doesn't seem like much of an upgrade - especially for what Maureen does. Myself, I don't like the way the 20D exposes images, and I think its AF system sucks. :D

It’s going to be quite a bit better in high iso I would assume, hopefully allowing you to bump it up a notch and keep shutter speeds faster in late day stuff if necessary. 640/800iso *should* look like iso400 of the 20D. The 10mp on the same size x1.6 sensor will yield higher pixel density so cropping should leave more details. Digic III processing & 14bit raw should also give better tonal graduation with the added bits of color,. It does have a revamped focus system, I haven’t read about it yet (hopefully it works) Has larger/brighter view finder. It’s a weather sealed body. It also allows focus screen changes like the 1D series so now you can put a grid type screen in to help level shots; I changed mine and was the best 30 dollars I’ve spent. Sure, you rotate/level images in PS but they loose crispness. Rather get it right in the camera if you can.Shutter is rated at 100k opposed to 50k. The 3” live view lcd & self sensor cleaning system is just fluff imo . It sounds like a lot of camera for the money to me but let’s see some actual reports before sending to the hall of fame

ok, my nerd session is over

I think it's a great camera for the $1299 the body will sell for. Actually, it's what Canon needed two years ago, but better late than never. :)

A little? I seriously wonder if any of those people have a life. Did you see the post about the "Nikon release party"?? I'm speechless. All those Photoshopped fakes, a CAD rendering, etc. - all to fool people. Those people are gadgeteers, not photographers.

John, you're missing the Jerry Springer show there. It's hysterical!

Your drag photos looked great, by the way!

I'm not sure why I got there. There are better places to go whit a lot less whining,

I was hoping for a little better weather for photos, but thanks

I was hopping the 5D replacement was going to be in with the new releases. I'm just not sure what unit to go with.

5D is good camera body, but not for sports. :)
