Is the stem on top of the valve required to be open a specific number of turns? Mine was open about 3 turns ( mid 80's 2.4 200 carbed). My service manual makes no reference to an adjustment.

I've also noticed the tubing going to the various priming locations is getting very stiff and brittle. I'd like to replace it before one cracks. What do you guys use and where do you get it?
Thanks for all that responded to my last post.

use the same size fuel line you can get at any parts store for the enrichener leads and for the other tubes running to the other carbs in the enrichener system (same as bleedline) you can get that type of line at chain saw parts places and rental places that work on them, i use clear line from a place called "tractor supply" in st. cloud, i was at rickracers yesterday and he also has black bleedline in rolls

as for the adjustment up top?????????????? dunno  i beleive mine is all the way, i was under the assuption that was for being able to choke it if the solinoid went bad?????? ya got me on that one :D

I just replaced all the tubing on my 1981 175 Johnson. I tried vacuum tubing and the weed eater fuel line and neither one worked. Both of them would get soft and pliable and if it sneezed pretty hard when warming up, it would blow the recirculation hose right off the fittings. I got the right stuff from Rickracer and it works like it should. I got more than enough for a total of about $12 which included shipping. I recommend that route. I have a diagram on my motor that shows to turn the lever to the outside for manual starting, and turn it opposite that for priming at the key. I don't think that it will actually screw in or out.

The correct hose is Tygon, most good auto supply stores can order it if you have a problem getting it. The enrichment valve should be screwed out for normal operation and screwed in if an electrical problem prevents it from working. It is nothing more than a solonoid valv. You should consider replacing with the later model with the push button, more dependable. Jeff S yours is OMC and his is a Merc. Jeff S. yours doesn't come with Tygon like the Merc.

I have both .0625id x .190od (Merc# 32-99387-79), and .090id x .220od (Merc# 32-99130122)in stock. I have not found Tygon tubing small enough diameter to use for bleed and re-circ lines.

You can get model airplane fuel line (Tygon) at any model airplane shop right off the shelf. I don't know any particular adjustment, I just set it by how much gas the motor needs to start.
