motor weight??

I have a 99 70 John...looking to put a 95 115 john on my boat...I asked 10 people and get 20 different weights.....
I looked around and can't find any numbers on paper....does anyone here know where i can find this infor....its very important that i find out before i buy the motor..

You've come to the right place for factory propaganda. I have a big stack of brochures. So if you want to believe the claims:

1999 70 HP Johnstone 250 lb

1995 115 Johnstone 319 lb

What is the boat? I would not put the 115 on a Voo Doo, but for a lot of other boats it would be fine.

Actually I believe the old claims. It is the 4 stroke dry weights that need a second look.

If you don't want to believe the factory, at least you have 22 weights now. You could take the root mean square or some other statistical 'average'.
