The motor that was on it was a 2.5 offshore 260hp.It only had approx 30 hrs on it.Not a rebuild a factory new powerhead. And it blew up.i have always had bbc jet boats.does any mfg make a motor i can put on the back of this boat that will run for the next 10 years.with normal maintance. If so any ideas would be great new or used.

Try the Yamaha V-Max motors, I have a 300 it's fast reliable and great on gas, regular gas only, They have good selection of props from the factory and mine came with a 5 year warranty.

I would definitely look real hard at the optimax 300xs. Wildman has begun rigging some of his 21 liberators with these; 100+mph, run all weekend on a tank of gas... Not to start any ford chevy thing here, but the Optimax has been pretty much waxing azzz on yamaha and BRP in the head to head tests done by BW Magazine. However, you would not be dissapointed with the yamaha mentioned above either.

might shoot Randy (Wildman) a PM, he probably has tried more different types of motors on a very similar hull.
