Did some research. It is common knowledge that the first year engines were stouter, and there is a different part number for that year head, on both the 150 and 175.
The next year the part numbers changed, but stayed consistent up through 1996.
I was curious if anyone knows if the 91 heads would offer a benefit over the 96 model heads, which are what I have. Mine is also a regular 150, not a Fast strike. My engine has lower compression then the same year fast strikes, so it seems to me there could be a difference in the heads for a regular engine, and a Fast strike.
There are 3 different head part numbers in 96. Only one in 91 and 2 or 3 different ones in the rest of the years.
91 # 335195 150 and 175
92 on 337548 for just 150
338082 for 150 JL
338311 for 150 GL, SL and 175
Mine is a J150ELEDB, 96 model.
