I'm not looking for a bash the dems or blame the repubs thread, I'm sure it can't be avoided though, but to get a better idea of what the standard of living is in other states. I was kicking around posting this for a long time and after hereing somrthing on the NJ 101.5 radio station yesterday I decided it time to put it up.
Let me start with NJ, 29 billion in pension debts, and as I stated they, 101.5, stated that the courts have now ordered the state to start to pay back that money that they borrowed. This is said to make a large increase in taxes for next year, we're the highest taxed stated already with a average property tax of 6K. With our ports and all the corperate HQs we should have one of the lowest rates!
This all is confusing to me as I here most other states are running surpluses and doing very well. Oh, they say our governor is in deep do-do over e-mails about goverment contracts with his ex-girlfriend who's a union leader and yet he's got a approval rating of over 50%? Not meaning to go down that road, just making a example of how people just don't care!

My wife and I went to Sam's Club last week in Houston, Texas and I got to noticing that we were the ONLY WHITE PEOPLE in the whole store and I'm NOT BS'ing and 3/4 of the women ( girls ) if they are breeding age have several appendages and is knocked up......... This area has become an extention of MEXICO...We have billboards all along the major thourfares in our town and they ALL in MEXICAN.. 1/2 the cable channels are MEXICAN. They say by 2009 that ANGLO will become the minority , BUDDY it already here in TEXAS and has been for a couple of years.....

And does'nt it piss you off when you dial information of the phone or any service and the first thing they as is "do you want spanish or english" damn what country is this ????????

This is one of the reasons we're moving soon after I retire , we going up to a place were housing is such that the average $ 10.00 an hour migrant with thier 12 kids CAN'T afford to live there !!!

Sorry just venting,

Of course he has a great approval rating, those that can pay do pay and those that can't don't. If you make anywhere near $100k you're evil and will pay dearly. Becasue you work extremely hard its unfair that you don't pay MORE!!! BTW, my prop tax just passed the $12K mark. When I bought the house 16 years ago I was paying less thatn $3k. Sure wish my income saw that kind of increase. We're ****ed, either have to not think about it or move out :( I stopped listening to 101.5 just for that reason, I'd be pissed off all day!!!

Take a look at your tax bill, why is the county tax so friggin high??? I think the county needs to buy more golf courses:rolleyes:

I'm on my way to Elmwood Park, NJ in 12 days for business, looking forward to seeing what it's like there, never been to NJ.

I was in Houston about a month ago and there were A LOT of Mexicans like Jay has mentioned. I LOVE the food. Can you imagine that in Toronto in either of the 2 Mexican restaurants you CANNOT get a meal worth eating? Here in Toronto we have immigrants of all sorts and anglo is minority now, and they're not just taking the jobs noone else wants, they also take the jobs the educated people go for.

In the suburbs where I live property tax is 1.3% on my $250k small townhouse = $3250/yr.

INXS, I'm in the sticks and I pay 15k/yr in taxes:eek:

Im in Vero beach, Fl. Was born and raised in Amity Harbor, NY and am familiar with living in several places in the US. Up till now, Florida is about as good as it gets. Got me a 2100sf house with a 2 car attached and a 6 car detached garage on over an acre. Property taxes are under 3K but homeowners insurance is another 4K. Schools are good and the majority of people near me are english speaking white. Im 3 miles from the boat ramp and can boat and ride my motorcycle year round. Not sure its paradise but beats the heck out of alot of other places. ***Did I mention we DONT have any state income tax!!!!!***** Ray

Sorry just venting,

You aint bull****tin' there. And for some reason, the cops dont like it when you start using illegals as target practice. A buddy of mine spent all night calling the cops because of wetbacks throwing a party next door to him, and the cops never showed. The next night, they were at it again, and 5 min after we started clearing them out with pellet guns (real precision air rifles, not the toys from wally world) the cops were there. Several cops couldnt speak english!!!! So, they were targets as well. The one white cop shows up and talks to us, gets mad, and gets told to leave or be buried in the back yard. The next day, the *******'s house is abandoned, and cops haul azz when they see my truck. 95mph in a 30 and the cop drives across the median to get away. My new motto is "if you dont want to join them, start shooting and they will go away." Hell, if I see them walking on a sidewalk I will take my truck over a curb to hit them. Cops wont arrest them, they can die trying to arrest me.

Where I live there is a town west of us that is mostly mexican. Thing is it has been for about 50 years. Our county is big in oranges and for a long time the mexicans pick the fruit. There is a definate increase in mexicans the last couple of years but the havent taken over like in some other places. I used to live in Miami and english speaking white is a minority. What the hell has happened to this place. Ray

You all just noticed this........ I am in construction, 10yrs ago they showed up in the drywall trade, then the roofing trade, then the siding trade now there framing. I dont have any working for me, but hell I cant find a white 18 yr old who wants to pull himself away from MTV or XBOX as long has mom and dad are feeding him. A mexican will work from sun up till sun down 7 days a week. The problem lies with buisness owners who hire them. Also how many of us visit the local mexican resteraunt ( myself included ), there alway happy to see you, shake your hand, talk some fake broken english crap maybe even buy you a shot or a margarita. They get a big tax break for opening a buisness here, thats why you see them branching out so much.........where is my break! Sorry for the rant................Hey how about that Febuary River Run on the Rio......anybody??? Five point on swimming targets:D

Also you may want to not bring a Liberator, I was told any STRESS cracks with hair or clothing in them will be deemed user neglect and will not be covered under warranty or refered too as delamination..

I think part of it goes to the Asbury Park school system, they average 19K per student. Middletown cost under 10K.

The retirement web sites state that 90+ million folks will retire in the next 10 years or so and you know most of them that are in the hi-tax states will want to go down south, or as I learned Panama and Nicaragua. Yes Nicaragua, that commie guy won the election and he turned into a capitalist.

I got an older kevlar hull. The ones that didnt delaminate. Or at least this one seems to be holding up. Seriously, I would be more worried about my prop. Too expencive to mess it up on someones head.

I kinda split my time between Illinois (work) and Indiana (live). I spent most of my life in Illinois and have followed that State for years. I absolutely refuse to get too interested in Indiana politics cause it'd be overload and I'd wanna go lay on the railroad tracks.
Illinois has huge issues with Sate pensions also. The Dem governor refuses to raise taxes which is the only thing I give him credit for. He regularly grandstands and even though he may think of himself as prez material down the road, he's got that deer in the headlights look about him most of the time. He was to be the Great Reformer and unfortunately, the Repub candidates he's run against were sh*t. The first guy was a rich pretty boy and it came out he used to take his wife to sex clubs and she'd give him BJ's. She's the hottie actress, Terri Ryan, from several tv shows. Anyway, the budget isn't getting anywhere right now and the state may have to shut down. It's the governor versus everybody and nothing is getting done. Last year, our Fed prosecutor,Patrick Fitzgerald, hauled a truckload of papers out of the guv's offices. It'd be nice to see him indicted soon.

Resistance Is Futile Clyde! Folks are depending on your taxes.

Anyway, here in NJ the frogs are depending on a 9 million dollar tunnel to cross one of our highways.

The wetbacks are here too. Was in Wally World last time and it was about 1/3 wetbacks, 1/3 black, and 1/3 white. Our politicians should all be voted out of office and replaced by some one that would actually DO SOMETING!!! All we have are a bunch of talking heads that pat themselves on the back for passing some "feel good” legislation. Maybe a march on Washington would do something, but all of US are working our asses off paying for all the illegals.

As far as states go, Louisiana is saying enough. We live in a democratic paradise. New Orleans is a perfect example. Remember the disarmament of the N.O. people? Well they finally found all the confiscated guns in 55 gallon drums rusting away. All of them ruined. No one is or will be held accountable just like all the missing money that was suppose to be spend on the levees surrounding New Orleans.

Other than that there is some really nice water.

Forkin, you need to move to Cullen County Alabama! I think you'll like their numbers a lot better. That would be my choice where to move if I retire in the US.

Mr Velocity, most yrs I get down there. This yr has been terrible, I only got out for maybe a total of 5 hrs. I got near the Hook last time I went out but as always when I'm not working OT it's been windy. I should be down there, by the Wind & Sea, Friday afternoon. I've got a few friends that hang at the nearby cove which I haven't seen in a while so hopefully this weekend should be good? Sat & Sun. look pretty good too. I'll PM my cell #.
BTW, Did you see the Press today? Long Branch is getting another huge expansion, including the Peir and Ferrie service.

The party is at the cove/island north of wind & sea where everyone hangs. They do it every year. Not 100% sure about my attendance yet, since I hate taking the Velocity there and I'm not sure if I'll have a motor for the little cat by the weekend.

Like Jay said the freaking Mexicans are all over the place here in Houston and getting worse by the day. You can't go to a Home Depot in a pick-up without getting bombarded with wetbacks looking for work. Although I will say they walk off pretty fast when I show them my 40.

I have a 10 month old son and it scares me to death everyday when I think about the world he's going to have to grow up and raise his family in.

I have too much at stake here. If it weren't for holdings and family I would probably be gone. The wetbacks will be there soon enough. Our government will make sure of that.

Casey I agree 100%. I wonder when we will cross the threshold to take things into our own hands?
